After his WrestleMania 40 run, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is back in Hollywood.

But not for good. Before he left, The Rock told Cody Rhodes that he would be back – and that he would be looking for him.

Most assumed Rock would eventually do a program with his cousin, former WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

But will he be coming for Cody too? As promised? Maybe even perhaps at WrestleMania 41?

‘I Want to Say Yes’

Cody Rhodes is currently continuing to flourish on WWE’s European tour where he was recently interviewed on the program Good Morning Britain.

The American Nightmare was asked by one of the hosts if he thinks he will eventually wrestle The Rock.

Rhodes has a thoughtful answer.

“I want to say yes. I want to say yes.” Cody added, “I think it will really come down to… can I be a good champion? Or a great champion?”

“Roman Reigns was a great champion,” Rhodes continued. “And will that be enough to entice The Rock? Because that’s what’s happened here. The Rock will tell you he made wrestling cool again. The Rock made wrestling cool maybe in the first place, but this run is a whole new generation, a whole new locker room. Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, myself, Rhea Ripley, all these people.”

He added, “I think the more we keep this, the better we do, the more chances it lures Rock back into the fray.”

Very Likely Down the Road

The confrontation between Rhodes and The Rock a few weeks ago appeared to have set up this inevitable showdown.

The Rock even implied that he was coming for Cody’s newly-won WWE Universal Championship that he successfully took from Reigns at WrestleMania 40.

But anything can happen in WWE. And usually does.

The Rock vs. Cody Rhodes for the top prize in the WWE has money written all over it.
