WWE’s new Undisputed Universal Champion Cody Rhodes has had so many memorable feuds.

Including one with his brother, Dustin Runnels also known as ‘Goldust’ (or Dustin Rhodes.)

An iconic if bizarre WWE character that the champ believes deserves to be in his company’s Hall of Fame. Rhodes said this during the press conference for Backlash in France where he retained his title against AJ Styles.

Endless Rhodes

Rhodes also talked about the subject at length during a recent interview on the Cheap Heat podcast.

Cody Rhodes said that he and Dustin’s sibling rivalry – the one that took place inside and outside the ring – will never end. (The two have quite an age gap – 17 years – and still they’re rivals!)

Discussing how bloody their 2019 rivalry in All Elite Wrestling had been, Rhodes said. “It’d be hard to do more. I mean he lost like half his body weight in blood in the one match that we did have. It’s never over. I would certainly, even if he didn’t pick me… I’d be so excited to be there.”

Rhodes’ brother’s Goldust character feuded with Roddy Piper, Booker T and more legends of the squared circle.

“And I’ll give you an example of it never being over is — out of nowhere, both my nephews, Kristen’s sons, out of nowhere who are there at University of Texas,” Rhodes said of his family. “They’ve got a real, they got a real college experience ahead of them. They want to get into film and TV. They started training at [Dustin’s] school.”

What’s two more Rhodes to add to the equation? If they can hurry up and get in the business, maybe there’s a new Four Horsemen in town.

The Rhodes Name Lives On

The champ elaborated on how the Rhodes name continues.

“And they that, there, lets me know, like, ‘Oh I thought we were done but we’re not. I actually, on the second day of WrestleMania, the inside of my boot is all of their initials,” Cody said. “All the grandkids initials were on the inside of my boot. Because it’s, I said it in the hype packages, and stuff, and it’s the truth, the story is beyond me.”

He added of his legendary father, Dusty Rhodes shaped the business in life and death, and that the legend lives on through his grandkids.

“So, yeah, it’s never over,” he insisted.

It will be a real treat to see what kind of stories the Rhodes family tells us next. Whether it’s one Rhodes… or two?

Right now Dustin Rhodes seems happy working for All Elite Wrestling. That wouldn’t preclude a Hall of Fame induction.

And in pro wrestling, never say never. About anything.
