Los Angeles Lakers star forward LeBron James has not yet opened up about his opinion on the performance of head coach Darvin Ham.

Los Angeles was eliminated from the NBA Playoffs in the first round by the defending champion Denver Nuggets on Monday. The team fell down 3-0 in the series before salvaging Game 4 at home. Unfortunately, it would drop a hard-fought outing against the Nuggets on Monday.

As the Lakers prepare for what promises to be an interesting offseason, Ham’s future in Southern California is up in the air. A recent report indicates that he’s likely going to be fired after just two seasons in that role.

“I’m told that Darvin Ham’s job is in serious peril and it’s highly unlikely that he’ll be back for a third season. There was a disconnect in the locker room in terms of adjustments and rotations.”

It appears that one member of the James’ family would not be unhappy or lose sleep over Ham being fired. Check out this epic troll post from Bryce James on social media:

Yo, what? These kids today take the whole meme game to a new level. That’s crazy stuff right there. The fact that this reached 446,000 followers on the younger James’ TikTok page is even crazier.

The point James is making seems to be rather clear. Ham’s inability to adjust the game plan has been a major talking point in Southern California.

As noted above, James has been quiet about Ham’s status in the days following their first-round elimination. The backrop here is James likely opting out of his contract an becoming a free agent this summer. He will obviously have some say in the Lakers’ head coach decision should the four-time NBA champion opt to remain in Southern California.

What we do know is that there was nearly a full-fledged mutiny targeting Ham early in the 2023-24 season. That included the James-led roster attempting to get him fired.

“A source told Hoops Wire that Lakers players wanted assistant coach Phil Handy to replace Ham earlier in the season. However, Los Angeles owner Jeanie Buss is a fan of Ham and she has never thought about firing him as coach,” report on Ham situation.

It wouldn’t be Los Angeles Lakers basketball without drama. Bryce James just added another layer to that. How fun!
