One Mets fan was seriously relishing in the fun during Tuesday night’s game against the Cubs.

In case you weren’t aware, it’s time to ketchup. See, Tuesday was $1 hot dog night at Citi Field. And one man managed to get kicked out for allegedly “inciting a riot.”

Why? Because he was downing hot dogs and pounding beers, keeping a tally on his shirt. But then fans began throwing extra hot dogs in his direction.

Video shows the Mets fan encouraging others to toss weiners his way.

Mets Fan Becomes An Instant Legend On $1 Hot Dog Night

Mets social media fan account ‘The 7 Line’ reported on X that the guy “totally embraced” $1 hot dog night before getting thrown out.

Another video surfaced showing security putting the kibosh on his good time, leading to a “Let him eat!” chant throughout his section.

The fans boo security mercilessly for the move.

You’ll note the tally on his shirt as he walks up the stairs – 9 hot dogs and 10 beers.

Pictures of this absolute legend also began circulating on X. One fan suggests that $1 hot dog night remains “undefeated.”

Another fan commented that they had run into the Mets fan on the train and were told he was removed for “inciting a riot.”

Still, they suggest, the police were as amused about the whole situation as everybody else.

One hardened Mets fan joked to Bounding Into Sports, “Something exciting at a Mets game and security shuts it down. Not surprising.”

Remember 10-Cent Beer Night?

Another user claims to have spoken to the Mets fan about his ordeal on $1 hot dog night.

“Welder, blue-collar guy, just wants to drink beers and eat glizzys,” they said.

Not necessarily in that order.

The Mets’ promo prior to the game said fans were limited to 4 hot dogs per transaction. This man had 9. Not to mention the dozens thrown at him.

That’s why blue-collar workers are the backbone of America. I mean, look at this icon.

As with most things in sports, it may have been Philadelphia fans who ruined this Met fan’s $1 hot dog night before it even began.

The Phillies earlier this year had to end their version of $1 hot dog night. Why? Because fans last season were hurling the weenies at each other like snowballs.

All of this calls back to one of the most famous MLB promotions of all time – 10-cent beer night at Cleveland Stadium in 1974.

The infamous 10 Cent Beer Night took place in a game against the Texas Rangers.

The event offered fans unlimited beer for just 10 cents per cup, leading to a chaotic situation where drunken fans disrupted the game, including incidents of streaking, throwing objects onto the field, and eventually storming the field in the ninth inning, forcing the game to be forfeited.

In retrospect, Mets fans could have acted much worse on a $1 hot dog night.
