They say laughter is the best medicine. Winning can be as well.

With the Indiana Fever on a bit of a winning streak (3 games, and 5 of the last 7) it seems like at least one of Caitlin Clark’s teammates has finally spoken up in support of her.

Following the team’s 88-81 win over the Washington Mystics on Wednesday, Clark seemed poised to focus on some errant passes and turnovers when forward Aliyah Boston chimed in, “It’s alright, don’t worry.”

“We’re not going to let her hang her head … off any missed passes,” Boston said. “Because we’re still continuing to gel together and we know that she’s a great passer.”

“So if she thinks she can get that ball there, she’s going to throw it. And if I miss it, then we’re good!”

A supportive teammate? One actually speaking out in public? Clark hasn’t seen much of this messaging so far in her rookie season.

Good on Boston.

Boston remarked on the chemistry she and Clark share on the court.

“I think Caitlin does a great job of finding me and also understanding when she can get her shot out of the pick and roll as well,” Boston said.

“I think that’s something we’ve just continued to build over games and practice and just get a feel for each other … I think a big part of that is Caitlin with the ball in her hands, she talks to me a lot.”

The bond between Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark is growing stronger. Just look at the pair’s stat lines in the Mystics game.

Boston had 22 points and 8 rebounds, while Clark posted 18 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals.

Clark is also, incredibly, third in the WNBA in assists with 99, trailing the leader by only 14 assists. As a rookie!

They’re Gaining Confidence

Critics have widely panned the Indiana Fever for not supporting their teammate through physical altercations on the court. This exchange shows that Clark does have at least moral support.

While everybody else is fighting amongst themselves over the targeting Caitlin Clark has endured as a rookie, Aliyah Boston’s comments prove the Fever are on the same page right now.

“I think this group is starting to click and build some chemistry and it’s one day at a time,” said Clark.

Indiana is 5-2 over their last 7 games. However, it should be noted none of those teams they’ve beaten during that run have a winning record.
