Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders had fans on social media riled up after refusing a handshake from opposing Colorado State QB Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi.
Colorado played their first decent game of the season on Saturday, defeating their in-state rivals 28-9.
Prior to that they barely squeaked by North Dakota State in week 1, a NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision team (formerly Division I-AA).
They then got absolutely boat-raced by Nebraska in their next game, as the Cornhuskers jumped to a 28-0 lead by halftime and cruised to victory.
So you might have thought the good vibes would be present and a sense of relief would come over Sanders after they beat a team in which they were favored by more than a touchdown.
Instead, Sanders refused to shake Fowler-Nicolosi’s hand after the game.

Deion Sanders Kid, Shedeur, Gets Wrecked On Social Media
Now, we’re not going to pretend that the Colorado State quarterback didn’t engage in a bit of trash talk before the game. But then, the Sanders family is known for trash talk, so one might think they’d appreciate the effort.
Fowler-Nicolosi bragged about his team forcing overtime against Sanders’ club last season when they were heavy, heavy underdogs.
“They came out with that attitude and thought it was going to be a cakewalk. They saw the reports, 27.5 points, or whatever it was, and they got a rude awakening real quick,” he said.
“And I think it goes to show that the hype, the media train, all that, it only gets you so far.”
All of that was true, for sure. All of it. Fowler-Nicolosi had every right to be proud of his team taking Colorado to the brink, especially when the media was being hypnotized into thinking the Buffaloes might actually be a good team.
After beating Colorado State last season, all of the Deion hype came crashing down as the Buffaloes went 1-8 the rest of the season. Colorado State had exposed them to reality. Shedeur should realistically be thanking his counterpart for giving him a much-needed spark.
Fans tore into Deion’s protege after the incident.
“We all need Shedeur to get humbled,” one fan wrote of Sander’s post-game conduct.
Added another, “Kid needs to chill he can beat a MW school but what happened against Nebraska?”
“Loves talking when he’s winning, hides in the locker room when they’re losing,” one fan replied. “This guy sucks.”

Threw His Own Teammates Under The Bus
It’d be one thing if Shedeur Sanders was just as brash when it came to difficult times as a quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes.
But recent history shows, that isn’t the case. When times were tough following the Nebraska shellacking, Sanders came out and threw his own teammates under the bus. Specifically, his offensive line.
“I mean, how many times did (Nebraska QB Dylan) Raiola get touched?” Sanders asked reporters after the game. “Of course, whenever you’re able to run the ball consistently, then it opens up the pass… you know? But you got to understand what your team’s good at.”
In that game, Deion’s kid had a QBR of 21.6, throwing for just 244 yards, one touchdown, and one pick. And the thing is, the entire second half was garbage time where he should have lit up the box score.
But then, it’s kind of what you’d expect from a Sanders. Shedeur is just continuing a family tradition of lacking class.
You may recall Deion dumping ice water on late sports broadcaster Tim McCarver – repeatedly – when the latter criticized him for abandoning the Atlanta Braves in the middle of a playoff series to play for the Falcons.
“You’re a real man Deion, I’ll say that,” McCarver responded at the time.
Seems the Sanders family tradition of being unable to handle criticism has continued.
