A number of NASCAR fans did not take kindly to NASCAR wishing their followers “happy holidays” instead of Merry Christmas.

The official NASCAR Twitter account posted, “To all those celebrating this month, we wish you a safe and joyous holiday season!”
The tweet included an image of two reindeer standing in a bunch of snow with a message reading, “Happy Holidays From NASCAR.”

Numerous fans responded to the tweet noting that they should be sending a “Merry Christmas” message and expressed their dislike of the “Happy Holidays” message.
One user wrote, “Merry Christmas to all my NASCAR Libs who manage this account.”

Another tweeted, “Screw that! MERRY CHRISTMAS!”

Still another tweeted, “The correct term is Merry Christmas!”

Nissan_37OZ tweeted, “I think what you meant to say was ‘Merry CHRISTmas’!!!”

This isn’t the first time NASCAR has sent out a “Happy Holidays” message.
Back in 2020, the organization tweeted, “This holiday season, we are grateful for the best fans in all of sports. Happy Holidays from NASCAR!”

They did the same in 2019 as well.
“Cherish every moment with your family and friends,” NASCAR tweeted. “Happy Holidays from all of us at NASCAR!”

In 2018, they tweeted, “Happy holidays from your friends at NASCAR!”

However, while they’ve wished their followers “Happy Holidays” numerous times in the past, they’ve also wished them Merry Christmas as well, but usually don’t do it until December 25th.
Last year they shared an image of a Christmas tree and tweeted, “Merry Christmas, NASCAR fans!”

The year before that they wrote, “The tree looks magnificent! Merry Christmas from all of your friends at NASCAR!”
NASCAR included a number of die cast cars on a Christmas tree.

In 2019 they shared a photo of Santa Claus’ NASCAR-themed sleigh as it received a pit stop from a number of hard working elves.
They tweeted, “‘Four tires and fuel for Saint Nick!’ We wish you a very Merry Christmas!”

Whether or not NASCAR will wish their followers a Merry Christmas will probably have to wait until December 25th.
What do you make of NASCAR fans informing NASCAR that it’s “Merry Christmas” instead of “Happy Holidays?”
