LSU basketball star Angel Reese is one of the most high-profile NCAA athletes out there today, and she proudly represents the Tigers with their traditional purple and gold. But thanks to Florida State’s 45-24 throttling of the Bayou Bengals on Saturday, the 6’3″ star was forced to trade in her stripes.
Reese had reason to have a stake in the game. Her boyfriend is Seminole forward Cam’ron Fletcher, and the collegiate couple decided to put their beloved colors on the line for the football game between their two universities.
Since Angel Reese lost the bet, she was forced to don the garnet and gold, something Fletcher happily joked about on social media, posting a picture of her in her FSU regalia.
Reese was at the game on Sunday wearing an “I (heart) LSU” crop top. Unfortunately, fortune didn’t favor her fabric as the ‘Noles (1-0) ran away with things in the second half. Heisman hopeful Jordan Travis put on a show, throwing for 342 yards and four touchdowns in a game where LSU coach Brian Kelly had basically guaranteed victory beforehand.

“I hate losing bets (especially) to @CamRonFletcher1” Reese jokingly posted on social media after paying up her end of the bargain.
The fact that this fun little bet even garnered media attention at all is a product of the incredible star power of Angel Reese. The Louisiana State star skyrocketed to fame (and NIL fortune) with her performance in the 2002-2003 season. She not only led her squad to the NCAA Championship, but she did so with a flair and style that set her apart from her contemporaries.
At this point, Angel Reese may be LSU’s most recognizable athlete. But this week? The lady they call ‘The Bayou Barbie’ had to spend a little while being a ‘Seminole Supporter’.
