1 Person Killed, 22 Injured – Including Children – During Super Bowl Parade Shooting
According to the latest reports, one person was killed in the shooting while 22 others were injured. Losing her life in the senseless tragedy was Lisa Lopez-Galvan, described by Fox News as “a beloved radio disc jockey and diehard Kansas City Chiefs fan.”
Lopez-Galvan is a mother of two.
Horrifically, 11 of the 22 individuals injured during the shooting were children. All are expected to recover, thankfully.
One of the Chiefs fans who tackled the gunman was Trey Filter. His wife, Casey, was seen moving a rifle away from the suspect while her husband remained on top of him.
The couple spoke to Chris Cuomo on NewsNation about their reaction and heroic acts.
“I turn, I see a flash, and I think to myself I hope that is him,” Trey remembered. “All I recall is barely seeing the guy and I couldn’t believe I caught him, I remember thinking ‘Man I hope that is him.'”
Casey stated, “When I saw [the gun] on the ground in front of me it was at my feet, so I saw it and just moved it.”
