Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter avoided media questions after delivering a flagrant foul that knocked Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark to the floor during a game Saturday.

Carter, who despite being an accomplished WNBA player is not well known by casual fans, gave Clark a shoulder shot/hip-check combination from behind before an inbound pass during the third quarter.

The Sky player appeared to say something particularly derogatory to Clark before delivering the shot. Clark immediately fell to the floor.

After analyzing video, the league upgraded Carter’s foul to a Flagrant 1. She won’t receive a suspension or fine for the hit, however.

Chennedy Carter Refuses To Talk To Media About The Flagrant Foul

While Chennedy Carter was talking a lot on the court, she shrank during a post-game press conference and refused to take questions regarding her actions.

“I ain’t answering no Caitlin Clark questions,” she said.

After blindsiding Clark who was watching the inbounds play, then avoiding media scrutiny of the incident, Carter found a little bravery behind a keyboard by liking posts on social media.

A Fox News analysis shows she ‘liked’ X posts pointing out that Clark’s Fever teammates didn’t defend her on the floor and others suggesting she flopped.

But no, this wasn’t a LeBron James flop by any stretch.

Later, Carter responded on Threads saying: “& that’s that on that cause beside three point shooting what does she bring to the table man.”

Well, Clark brings roughly five more points, three more rebounds, and four more assists per game than Carter. Not to mention an exponential amount of revenue and name recognition. No casual fan reading this ever heard of Carter prior to this story.

Angel Reese Cheers Foul On Caitlin Clark

It’s important to point out that Carter’s behavior quite literally cost her team the game. Clark was awarded and sank her only free throw attempt of the night as a result of the incident late in the third quarter.

The Fever would win by that margin, 71-70.

Carter and her Sky teammate Angel Reese seemed less concerned with results than getting a shot in on Clark. ESPN cameras caught Reese on the sideline emphatically cheering the flagrant foul that took the WNBA’s premier player down.

Jealousy can be an ugly, ugly thing.

Look, nobody is opposed to some hard play. But would it kill these WNBA players to keep it within the flow of the game? They’re quite honestly proving Charles Barkley right.

Barkley famously blasted WNBA players critical of Clark by saying: “You women out there, y’all petty, man.”

Reese and the Sky were both fined after she failed to make herself available to the media after the game.

Clark pointed out that Chennedy Carter’s foul had little to do with the game.

“That’s just not a basketball play,” she said.

“I wasn’t expecting that,” she said following the game. “But it’s just like, ‘Respond, calm down and let your play do the talking.’ It is what it is … Go make the free throw and then execute on offense.”

Clark did just that despite a rather pedestrian stat line for the night. Carter’s actions cost her team the game. And Reese cheered her on.

That right there is why Clark is the star of the league, and Reese and Carter are not, in a nutshell.
