On Saturday night, Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter shocked WNBA fans when she hard hip-checked the Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark right to the floor during a game. Despite the backlash that she’s received, Carter is now doubling down by attacking Clark on social media.

Carter Shoulder-Checks Clark

Carter hip-checked Clark away from the play before an inbounds attempt. This sent a visibly stunned Clark to the ground. The next day, after reviewing the play, WNBA officials upgraded the foul to a Flagrant I.

Carter Sounds Off

Immediately after the game, Carter refused to comment when asked about the incident.

“I ain’t answering any Cailtin Clark questions,” she said.

Since then, however, Carter has resorted to sounding off against Clark on social media. She took to her Instagram Story to address those criticizing the foul directly.

“I grew up with all brothers,” she wrote. “All we did is fight and argue. I love the hate more than the love what don’t yall understand. I’d rather you hate me [than] love me and I mean that on my dead aunt.”

Carter Questions Clark’s Skills

Carter later took to Threads to question Clark’s basketball skills.

“& that’s that on that cause beside three point shooting what does she bring to the table man,” Carter wrote.

Unfortunately for Carter, however, fans have since dug up both her and Clark’s stats. When looking at them next to one another, it’s clear that Clark’s stats are better than Carter’s. Check out that comparison below.

Carter also wrote “my dawg fasho , got all my teammates” in response to a post about Angel Reese celebrating with her after the foul.

On the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Carter hit back at those who are calling for an enforcer-type player to be on the court protecting Clark.

“we grown asf & y’all talking about enforcer man gtfoh , hoop or shut up,” she wrote.

Caitlin Clark Responds

Clark admitted that she was shocked by what Carter did, saying that it was not a “basketball play.”

“I wasn’t expecting it,” Clark told The Associated Press. “It is what it is. It’s a physical game. Go make the free throw and execute on offense, and I feel like that’s kind of what we did.”

“I grew up playing basketball with the boys,” she added. “It’s always been physical and feisty and you have to find a way to hold your own.”

Thankfully for Clark, she got the last laugh. Indiana Fever beat Chicago Sky 71-70, snapping a three-game losing streak. This was also the Fever’s first home win of the season. Clark totaled 11 points, eight rebounds, six assists and one steal.

Many feel that other WNBA players are jealous and bitter over the attention that Clark has received. Carter’s attacks on Clark will certainly do nothing to dispel these opinions.
