Does Caitlin Clark have that ol’ Mamba mentality? It sure seems like it.
The Mamba Mentality refers to a mindset or philosophy popularized by the late basketball legend Kobe Bryant. It is all about focusing on the process and trusting in the hard work when it matters most.
Clark, the Indiana Fever guard showed she is ready to take on the hard work following her team’s victory over the Atlanta Dream.
It’s easy to be content after a win. Especially when you’re on a team that doesn’t get very many like Indiana.
But Clark was captured on video working on her jumper with her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, after the game.
Caitlin Clark Working On Her Jumper
Caitlin Clark had a rough shooting performance in her team’s win. The video of her continuing to work on her long-range jumper seems to be an acknowledgment of those struggles.
She scored just 7 points on 3 of 11 shooting, including 1 of 6 from downtown. Clark did manage to have an impact on the game all the same, dishing out 6 assists.
But the shot was off. It needed work. And she was determined to get her stroke back.
With overwhelmingly controversial media coverage following her around everywhere – through no fault of her own – it’ll be interesting to see what the narrative will be following this video.
There is nothing negative to be found in somebody getting a sweat in after a game to try and improve their shot. Let’s see if the media finds something to run with.

Wants To Focus On Basketball
It seems pretty obvious that Caitlin Clark is focused. Focused on her game. Focused on getting better.
And that can’t be easy considering the microscope she’s been put under by the press and fellow WNBA players who seem to think she should be focused on the agendas of other people.
A reporter recently asked Clark about her name being used to weaponize a certain perceived agenda. But she didn’t take the bait and instead said she was more worried about basketball.
“It’s not something I can control. … And to be honest, I don’t see a lot of it,” she replied. “People can talk about what they want to talk about … I’m just here to play basketball.”
Just playing basketball. Putting in the work. Even after a victory. Clark truly is somebody young girls can look up to in the WNBA.
