Caitlin Clark offered up thoughts on what it might be like teaming up with Angel Reese at the WNBA All-Star game on Saturday.

The two rookies are All-Stars who were left off the Olympic squad, the team they will be facing.

Speaking at an orange carpet event during the weekend festivities, an event Reese decided to skip, Clark was asked her thoughts on sharing the ball with her Chicago Sky rival.

“I’m really excited. I think it’s cool,” Clark said. “It’s obviously rare to have two rookies in the All-Star game, so I think just enjoy that. Obviously the fans are super excited about it. I think it’s just really good for the W.”

The Indiana Fever sensation then offered up a prediction for the game. What she thought Reese might bring to the table.

“Obviously she is having an incredible year. It’s going to be really fun,” Clark added. “She is probably going to lead the game in rebounds. I expect that out of her, that’s just what she does.”

Caitlin Clark Excited To Play With Angel Reese

Clark has been taking the high road and trying to defuse any tension between she and Reese prior to the All-Star game. When the two were announced, the leading candidate for Rookie of the Year hoped their rivalry wouldn’t take the focus off other players.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been her teammate before, even at USA Basketball. I know people will be really excited about it, but I hope it doesn’t take away from everyone else,” Clark said.

Humble as ever, that Caitlin Clark.

“This is a huge accomplishment for everybody on Team USA and everyone on Team WNBA. They all deserve the same praise. I don’t want it to take away from any of that and be the focal point of All-Star weekend because that’s not fair to them.”

I mean, yea, people are going to have their interest piqued over the dynamic. Who wasn’t intrigued any time Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods ended up in the same pairing during the height of their careers?

That said, it’s not as if Reese is going to turn to Clark and superkick her in the middle of the game like Shawn Michaels breaking up with Marty Jannetty.

That IS What She Does

On the topic of rebounding, Caitlin Clark is dead on when it comes to Angel Reese’s rebounding skills. She currently leads the WNBA in that category. As a rookie.

While Reese is busy pounding the boards, Clark will most likely be dazzling All-Star game fans with her three-point shooting and her ability to dish the rock.

Clark leads the league in assists. Plus, she just set the record for most assists in a WNBA game with 19 against the Dallas Wings.

Again, these two ladies are rookies!

The two will be teammates for one game but there has long been animosity between Reese and Clark.

Seems like only yesterday we saw Angel as an LSU player taunting Clark on Iowa with a ‘you can’t see me’ gesture while also pointing to her ring finger. As in, ‘Hey Caitlin, you’re not getting a championship ring.’

Reese was caught cheering excitedly on the sidelines earlier this season when her teammate Chennedy Carter delivered a rough flagrant foul to Clark away from the ball.
