Boxing: Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz

UFC fighter Conor McGregor took a verbal jab at Jake Paul, calling him a “little dweeb of a thing” during a press conference for the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC).

McGregor is a part-owner of the BKFC.

McGregor made the remark expressing his support for Mike Perry, who is set to fight Paul in a boxing match on Saturday.

“Look at what has happened to Michael Perry, one of our big stars here,” he said. “‘The King of Violence,’ he titles himself.”

“He’s had such a rise in the sport. Now he’s up against a little dweeb of a thing in a fight this weekend. And, we’re all rooting for him.”

Conor McGregor Torches Jake Paul

While Conor McGregor might be rooting against Jake Paul, the former YouTube star is heavily favored to beat Perry. This, despite the fact that Perry has done well for himself in the BKFC.

He has a perfect 5-0 record in bare-knuckle boxing including wins over Eddie Alvarez, Luke Rockhold, and Michael “Venom” Page.

As with many of Paul’s matches though, he is taking on a fighter whose experience is almost exclusive to MMA-style fighting, not boxing.

And the ‘little dweeb’s’ superior technique and notable power in the ring will most likely leave McGregor disappointed at the end of the night.

Paul Still Eyeing Tyson Fight

Paul is fighting Perry because his originally scheduled fight with Mike Tyson was postponed due to the 58-year-old legend suffering from an ulcer flare-up.

Instead of waiting, Paul decided to keep the July date and instead mix it up with Perry.

Keeping the fight date and taking on a wild card in Perry could be seen as risky. A loss would surely throw a wrench in Paul’s plans to cash in on the fight against ‘Iron’ Mike.

Now, thanks to McGrgeor, that fight, should it happen, will be known as ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet vs. A Little Dweeb of a Thing.’

Guaranteed to be a blockbuster.

The new date for Paul-Tyson is November 15, 2024, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
