By now, the current living conditions at the Olympic Village in Paris have become a running joke. The food apparently isn’t great, there is no air conditioning (except for the Americans who brought their own portable units), and you can’t even have sex in the beds.
What’s an Olympian to do?
Well, Lina Nielsen, a British sprinter, is tired of all the complaining and moaning and wants to make it clear to the world that this isn’t some refugee camp in a war-torn country. To double down, she’s posting to social media how much fun she seems to be having.
Many athletes, including LSU gymnast Aleah Finnegan and Charleston native Raven Saunders, have criticized the bland and lacking food in the Olympic Village.

American gymnast Simone Biles noted the meals are healthier but not proper French cuisine; some athletes also took issue with the housing conditions, such as the lack of air conditioning and uncomfortable cardboard beds, though a few are making the best of the situation.
For Nielsen however, she’s living her best life, showing off how nice the village actually appears and even doing a review of the infamous chocolate muffin the internet seems to be obsessing with.

In one post to TikTok, Nielsen poked fun at the athletes who left to find other accommodations outside the village.
“Why would you wanna leave the village when we’ve got a pub and a shop?” Asked Nielsen. “And an nail and hair salon.”
Well, when you put it that way, why would you want to leave?
