Colorado head coach Deion Sanders took a swipe at the media following his team’s wild comeback against North Dakota State Thursday night.
Who knows, maybe ‘Prime’ is using the victim card as a means to motivate his players after struggling to put away a team they were favored to defeat by 11.5 points.
“Some of you are upset we got the W, some of you are really mad that we didn’t get the L,” he said in a post-game press conference. “Gotta wait until next week.”
The Buffaloes won their season opener, 31-26, behind a passing attack that put up video game numbers.
Shedeur Sanders (Prime’s son) threw for 445 yards and 4 touchdowns (1 interception) while receivers Jimmy Horn Jr. and Travis Hunter combined for 14 catches, 330 yards, and 4 touchdowns.

Deion Sanders And Colorado Struggle To Win
With gaudy numbers like that, it’s hard to figure out how Colorado was only able to put away NDSU by 5 points. This is a Bison club that is an NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision team (formerly Division I-AA).
And yet, they struggled.
Deion Sanders didn’t want to focus on the negatives after the game, instead heavily praising his son’s performance.
“What he (Shedeur) throw for? 445 yards, you think we are upset?” he said. “Who’s upset, oh they didn’t have a running game? Well, that passing game looked pretty darn good today.”
Still, he’s well aware that Colorado escaped disaster after failing to knock down the final pass of the game and the refs missing an obvious targeting penalty against his defense.
“I don’t use profanity, but I thought it,” Sanders said.

Problems With Reporters
Coach Deion Sanders had a beef with the media leading up to the game as well, cutting off a CBS reporter and refusing to answer questions from the outlet.
Sanders later told another reporter that he felt one of CBS’s guys “questioned and attacked his faith”.
‘Neon’ Deion is every bit the traveling circus he was as a professional athlete now that he has joined the coaching ranks. And it’s not translating well.
After getting off to a hot start last season, his team came crashing back to earth, finishing with a 4-8 record and losing 8 of their last 9 games.
Now, they don’t even have a hot start to work with, as evidenced by their struggles against North Dakota State.
Sanders might be right about one thing with his latest comments. The media might only “gotta wait until next week.”
The Buffaloes will be facing Nebraska on the road. If they don’t give them a little more than they gave the Bison, Deion won’t be gloating to the media again.
