The Green Bay Packers social media team got lit up by fans after their tailgating poll managed to completely skip over a staple favorite in Wisconsin.
Even those of us who reside outside America’s Dairyland could have told you what an obvious, gigantic mistake they made. Wisconsinites, on the other hand, are practically apoplectic.
“Settle a debate for us,” they wrote. “The most elite tailgating food is….”
The people running the X account then offered just three selections in their unofficial poll: Burgers, hot dogs, and chicken wings.
No brats. Let me repeat, no brats!
Packers fans were not amused, to say the least.

Packers Tailgating Poll Doesn’t Mention Brats, Wisconsin In Disarray
It’s not like the Green Bay Packers’ social media nerds couldn’t have added a fourth option. I mean, most polls offer four. So brats could have made an appearance.
The fact that they didn’t sent fans into an absolute tailspin.
“Packers…we are Wisconsinites. The answer is brats,” one fan responded, adding a GIF of a confused-looking Ryan Gosling.
Another commented, “It’s not too late to delete the tweet.”
Others simply added ‘brats’ as an option in their response, including one fan who ran his own poll between the sausages and everything else. Brats won the poll with 94% of the vote.

Green Bay Defends Their Decision
Perhaps one of the best responses to Brat-gate came from Johnsonville, the famous sausage company headquartered in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin.
Sheboygan, by the way, is known as the “Bratwurst Capital of the World”. And for those curious, my editor informs me that it’s pronounced “Shah – boy – gann”.
Johnsonville tossed a popular GIF of Swaggy P looking confused at the Green Bay Packers social media team.
The social media team defended their decision by suggesting brats are so good and so ‘elite’ that they can not be chained to being just tailgating food.
“Wow. The fact you’re all diminishing brats to only TAILGATE FOOD?!” they wrote. “Brats are a lifestyle. If anything is disappointing about this post it’s you.”
Maybe whoever is behind the keyboard on this account should push away from their laptop and take a break. Go out and cook up some brats.
