Las Vegas Raiders rookie first-round pick Brock Bowers is set to make his NFL regular-season debut against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

A product of Georgia, the 21-year-old Bowers was surprisingly selected No. 13 overall by Vegas in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The hope for these Raiders is that he joins the likes of wide receiver Davante Adams in lifting up what has been a questionable offense.

But that is not anywhere near the story here.

Bowers met with media in the locker room ahead of Sunday’s game in Southern California. The focus was on just how excited he is to be making his regular-season debut, as relayed by Vegas Sports Today.

Pretty solid response from the Napa native, right?

Well, this wasn’t the talking point on social media. As has been the case since a certain someone took over X, the trolls were out in full force.

Of course, we’re talking about hairline jokes.

Bowers was a four-star recruit. He earned two national championships and was an All-American three times. The Northern California native is considered one of the greatest collegiate tight ends of all-time.

But none of that matters on socials. He’s now the butt of all hairline jokes heading into the tight end’s regular-season debut.

“Brock should have a promising career, but he may want to go ahead & rock a baldy with a beard,” one X user wrote.

The GIFs were not much nicer.

“Nobody is rooting for him to lose his hair, but he needs to free himself from the shackles he’s bound by,” another X user wrote.

This is what we’ve devolved into. No, I am not bitter because of my questionable hairline. OK, that’s a lie.

Either way, let this man live. Science will take care of the rest soon enough.
