Gymnastics standout Livvy Dunne is opening up about her decision to utilize a fifth year of eligibility and return to LSU. Dunne led the Tigers to the school’s first NCAA Championship last year.

Oddly enough, while some athletes might choose the peak moment in their career to walk off into the sunset, Olivia believes reaching that summit is what ultimately helped her decide to return.

“I really want to come back — well, first of all, we won last year,” Dunne said in an exclusive interview with The New York Post.

“It was so exciting for not only our team but the whole university. And that’s a feeling that I want to feel again,” she added. “It was so special in the bond with the girls.”

Dunne explained that the championship season for LSU is what helped her regain a love for gymnastics.

“I’ve really found the love, my love for the sport again last year, I’d say. So that’s one of the main reasons why I wanted to come back.”

Livvy Dunne Heading Back To LSU

Now look, we all love Livvy Dunne here at Bounding Into Sports. What’s not to love? But I would suggest that her love of gymnastics isn’t the sole reason for a return to LSU.

Following the Tigers’ championship run, Dunne had become one of the most influential college athletes with a Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) program valuation of over $3 million.

Another year means more $$$.

Dunne’s interview comes as she actively promotes The Money Game, a six-part docuseries streaming now on Prime Video. The documentary provides an exclusive look into the 2023-24 athletic season at LSU.

WNBA star Angel Reese is also highlighted in the film.

In an interview for the series, LSU coach Jay Clark defends Livvy Dunne’s perception as a role player for the team and supposedly not matching her level of fame on the mat.

Dunne, he said, “played a tremendous role and (has)been a great athlete from a gymnastics perspective”.

Love It Enough For The 2028 Olympics?

Many fans of Livvy Dunne are wondering if her love for gymnastics will extend to possibly trying out for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

A fan recently wrote a comment on a TikTok video saying, “You need to be in the Olympics fr (for real)”, to which Dunne replied: “LA 2028 baby.”

Olivia ‘Livvy’ Dunne is both a popular NCAA gymnast and social media influencer known for her impressive skills on the mat and her engaging online presence.

She kicked off her fifth year at LSU with a heartwarming Instagram post featuring her golden retriever, Roux, and a playful “last first day EVER” sign.

On it, she listed this year’s goal as becoming a “2x natty champ!”
