The NFL isn’t just a battleground for teams but also a fascinating arena for fan dynamics and what really grinds the gears of the spectators.

A recent survey conducted by Action Network reveals which teams have fans that are generally considered alright in the eyes of their opponents, and which teams fans really think need to have a flag thrown in their direction.

The survey provides insights into who fans believe are the most annoying teams, players, and behaviors when watching football.

And here are your top 5 teams:

The bottom three on this same list were the Carolina Panthers (1%), the Los Angeles Chargers (1%), and the Indianapolis Colts (0%).

The NFL’s Most Annoying Fans? How ‘Bout Them Cowboys?

First off, congratulations to the Indianapolis Colts for scoring 0% in this survey. Seriously, there’s nothing annoying about the fans in Indy?

Second, as a Dallas Cowboys fan myself, I’d just like to say that I completely agree with this take. We are annoying.

The schizophrenia involved in every year thinking in November that, like Jim Carrey in Dumb & Dumber, “you’re saying there’s a chance” and ‘We Dem Boyz!’, to consistently being reminded that the rest of the NFL is Lucy and we’re Charlie Brown hoping to finally kick the football, is just exhausting.

It sucks. I hardly like to look at myself in the mirror some days.

“When it comes to visiting fans, the Dallas Cowboys’ reputation precedes them, and not in a good way. A resounding 20% of surveyed NFL fans voted the Cowboys as the most annoying visiting fan base,” Action Network writes.

“Cowboys fans are known for being loud, which seems to rub rival fans the wrong way.”

Yea, loud during the regular season maybe. But when playoff time comes, we’re nowhere to be found.

Dallas Fans Uniting The Country

All of that said and having conceded the point, in these times when unity is a rare thing and everything from politics to sports and entertainment are polarizing, Dallas Cowboys fans are uniting the masses.

Not only are they the runaway selection for NFL’s most annoying fans – 20% is extraordinarily high when there were 32 teams to choose from – but they are universally despised across all demographics.

They lead the league amongst men (22%) and women (18%), and every age group with 45-54 year-olds is particularly annoyed with Cowboy fans (23%), married or divorced. It doesn’t matter.

Dallas Cowboys fans are universally despised. Part of that is recognition I would say – most of the top 5 teams are relatively successful franchises who have a long history. But still, I get it. We’re bad. And you love to hate us.

Cowboys fans have even managed to do the impossible – unite Democrats and Republicans. Yes, 23% of Democrats pick the Cowboy fans as the NFL’s most annoying while 17% of Republicans feel the same way.

With that kind of polling, I might throw my hat in the ring for President while wearing my Dak Prescott jersey. (Prescott also manages to land on the Action Network’s top 5 most annoying NFL players off the field.)

Football. Unity. America.
