With the creation of the NIL program for athletes to earn compensation, several NCAA stars have taken advantage of the current era of amateur athletics to earn professional money. Now, Penn State defensive end Demeioun ‘Chop’ Robinson is getting his cut… with perhaps the most mouth-watering deal of all. In a sizzling situation that’s perfectly suited to his nickname, he will now act as the face of the Pennsylvania Pork Producers Council.

Robinson, a 6-foot-3, 254-pound junior, has been one of the anchors on the line for a Nittany Lions defense that’s the best in the country. He’s a native of Maryland and played one season for the Terrapins before eventually transferring to Penn State.

And getting down to the meat of the matter? His NIL agreement is a job that he’s kinda been auditioning for his whole life. Robinson was originally nicknamed ‘pork chop’ by his parents after he was born as a 14-pound baby. Eventually, he shed the first part of the name and decided to just be known to the world as ‘Chop.’

Chop Robinson also appears to be a good fit as a spokesman, as well. He’s generally jovial and well-regarded by the media who cover the Nittany Lions. So the projected first-round pick looks like he’s already taking some huge steps to fatten his portfolio.

As far as his pro prospects, they are pretty hot, as well. His progression from his sophomore year to 2023 has been substantial. Last season, he played in 12 games and had 26 tackles and 5.5 sacks. He’s projected to pass all those numbers in 2023.

Chop Robinson was an Under Armour All-American defensive end at Maryland’s Quince Orchard High, where he set the school sacks record (14). He’s considered a potential top-10 NFL Draft pick if he announces that he’s leaving Penn State following this season.
