The golf legend Tiger Woods, at long last, had something major to celebrate after his 15 year-old son Charlie nailed his first hole-in-one on Sunday.
Tiger Celebrates Charlie’s Hole-In-One
Tiger, 48, and Charlie, 15, were runners up at the PNC Championship in Florida. They lost in a playoff to Bernhard Langer and his son Jason.
But the duo came second-to-none at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club Orlando when Charlie got his first ace with a 7-iron on the par-3 fourth hole.
An ecstatic Tiger gave him a huge hug afterwards before reminding Charlie that he would have to buy a round of drinks for everyone.
“I’m broke!” Charlie said in response.
Afterwards, Tiger was caught on camera hugging his ex-wife Elin Nordegren, who is Charlie’s mother.

Tiger And Elin’s History
Tiger and Elin divorced in 2010 after six years of marriage. Their split came after she discovered that he was cheating on her.
“[I was in] absolute shock and disbelief,” Elin later said of her divorce. “I felt stupid as more things were revealed — how could I not have known anything? The word betrayal isn’t strong enough. “
“I felt like my whole world had fallen apart. It seemed that my world as I thought it was had never existed,” she added. “I felt embarrassed for having been so deceived. I felt betrayed by many people around me.”
Tiger and Elin are also parents to daughter Sam, 17. Elin has since gone on to have three children with her current husband, former NFL player Jordan Cameron. Even so, Tiger and Elin remain close friends to this day.
“She’s one of my best friends,” Tiger said of Elin in 2015. “We’re able to pick up the phone, and we talk to each other all the time.”

Charlie Had A Blast
Despite the loss, Charlie still said that this event was the most fun he has had on the golf course. Who can blame him?
“It’s not even close,” Charlie told ESPN. “It was awesome having Dad there. That was so much fun. It was just a perfect 7-iron, little cut in there. Of course never got to see it go in. So that sucks. But that’s all right.”
Tiger was quick to agree with his son.
“That was the thrill of a lifetime to be able to have that moment with Charlie, make his first hole-in-one, [daughter] Sam on the bag, just our family and friends,” Tiger said. “That’s what this event is about. It’s about bonding and family.
“I know we didn’t win, but it was the fact that we competed,” he continued. “No one really made a mistake out there. We had to earn it, and that’s what you want to have. Hats off to Langers. They played amazing.”
This was Tiger’s first time playing since a sixth surgery on his lower back in September. Even so, he still performed well, hitting driver off the deck on the par-5 14th.
“I’m very excited to head back to the PNC Championship next week with Charlie,” Tiger said in a statement before the event. “Playing together is something we look forward to and it’s always more special when you’re surrounded by friends and family.”
We’d like to congratulate Charlie on his first hole-in-one. It’ll certainly be interesting to see where his career takes him in the years to come!
