A golfer rolled into the Wildwood Country Club in Louisville, Kentucky in what is being described as ‘Scottie Scheffler-style’ and delivered a dramatic recreation of his arrest.
I mean, this absolutely tops the fans who showed up to the second round of the PGA Championship wearing t-shirts of Scheffler’s mugshot.
As we all know by now, the world’s number one golfer was arrested last month for allegedly ignoring instructions from Officer Bryan Gillis and driving gently forward as the detective’s arm was latched to his door, subsequently dragging him to the ground.
Scheffler was ridiculously charged with felony assault and faced significant jail time. But the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD), lacking in evidence that such an assault occurred, dropped the charges.
So now we can all look back on the incident and laugh. And laugh we did when we saw this golfer rolling into the member-guest area at Wildwood.

Officer Who Arrested Scottie Scheffler Finally Dragged
What’s most funny about that video? It’s probably just about the same exact scenario – from the speed of the vehicle, to the level of peril experienced – that Officer Gillis faced that fateful morning.
Well, that and the fact that the guy was blasting the “Cops” theme song whilst casually moseying on through the golfers lined up for play.
It’s unclear if the dummy in the above video had his pants destroyed beyond repair. The one who arrested Scottie Scheffler certainly did.
The boys all got a good laugh out of the incident while even the tournament director joked, “Scottie Scheffler’s here today.”
Video Goes Viral
As of this writing, that video has been viewed well over 2 million times. People are loving it.
The social media account for Shooter McGavin joked that Wildwood Country Club “need(s) to give this guy free membership for life after this.”
Added another, “Bloody genius.”
“Those pants were destroyed and Officer Gillis almost died,” one person quipped. “No laughing matter.”
Oh, it’s definitely a laughing matter.
Did … did you see the images of Officer Gillis’s injuries after trying to take down the hardened criminal street thug? (WARNING: GRAPHIC)
After seeing that, it’s a wonder Scottie wasn’t charged with attempted murder.
After having the charges dropped, Scheffler said he opted not to file a civil lawsuit against the LMPD because he didn’t feel it was right for the taxpayers to be punished “for the mistakes of their police department.”
Fair enough. But the police officer can be punished through ridicule at least. And the man in that SUV delivered in spades.
