Baltimore Orioles catcher James McCann is an absolute legend. Taking on the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday, the backstop was struck in the face by a 95 mile-per-hour fast ball from Yariel Rodriguez.

It was an absolutely ugly scene in Baltimore as McCann went down in a ton of pain. Check it out.

As you can see, McCann was all sorts of bloodied. Just check out his jersey after being hit by the pitch. Craziness.

What’s even more amazing here is the fact that the veteran catcher remained in the game after switching out jerseys. That’s epic stuff right there.

The 34-year-old McCann leaves a lot to be desired from the plate. He entered MLB games today hitting .216 with a .590 OPS. But his toughness can’t be denied.

It’s absolutely insane that McCann opted to remain in the game. He was bleeding something crazy from the nose. After getting some gauze shoved in his nostrils, he did not miss a beat.

Obviously, the MLB world had its reactions to this insane scene in Baltimore.

Legend status!
