Haley and Hanna Cavinder are speaking out this week to praise Caitlin Clark for the impact that she’s already had on women’s basketball.

Cavinder Twins Praise Clark

“She’s a once-in-a-lifetime player,” Haley said of Caitlin while appearing on OutKick’s “Hot Mic” on Tuesday. “What she’s done for the game over the last year is insanely good for women’s basketball.”

“She’s fun to watch. Everyone wants to watch her,” she added. “I think she’s amazing, and that’s why people want to watch.”

Haley went on to explain that this is what will allow women’s basketball to grow.

“Even going into the women’s NBA, I don’t think I’ve ever watched women’s NBA more because Caitlin Clark’s in that league,” she admitted. “I think what she’s doing for the game is great for women’s basketball.”

Fox News reported that this comes one month after the Cavinder twins announced that they will be returning to Miami to play their fifth and final year of NCAA eligibility.

They previously played three seasons at Fresno State. The Cavinder twins are two of the most famous college athletes, and they have 4.5 million followers on TikTok.

Haley has 2,065 career points and averaged 12.2 points per game in 2022-23. This was the highest of anyone on the Miami team, according to Fox Sports. Meanwhile, Hanna averaged 3.8 points in the 2022-23 season.

Clark Makes History

As for Clark, she’s already making history in the WNBA. This week, she became the fastest rookie in WNBA history to record 100 points and 50 assists, according to CNN.

Though her team Indiana Fever lost to the Los Angeles Sparks 88-82 on Tuesday, it was still a great game for Clark. She finished with 30 points, five rebounds, six assists, three steals and three blocks in the game. This made her the first rookie, and fourth player overall, in WNBA history to record a 30-5-5-3-3 stat line.

While this is incredibly impressive, Clark stayed humble afterwards.

“Honestly, I think I just played with an aggressive mindset,” Clark told reporters. “I think that was the biggest thing, just to play downhill the best I could.”

She went on to show what a perfectionist she is by explaining what she could have done better.

“I would have liked to have made a couple more threes…but I thought we did some good things and then we just kinda shoot ourselves in the foot,” she said.

That being said, Clark acknowledges that she has “improved a lot since the start of the season.”

Indiana Fever 1-7 This Season

The Fever are set to next play the Seattle Storm in a home game on Thursday. Despite Clark’s best efforts, the Fever are now 1-7. This puts them just one better than the Washington Mystics, who currently have the league-worst record of 0-6. Clark has said that the teams grueling schedule has made it difficult to get enough practice in.

Despite these losses, it can’t be denied that the Cavinder twins are right about what Clark has done to boost the popularity of women’s basketball. Here’s hoping that she is able to turn things around for Indiana Fever!
