Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos will be looking to recapture some of the same old magic in his fight against Fabricio Werdum on September 8th on Jorge Masvidal’s GameBred Bareknuckle MMA promotion.

With the bout looming, Dos Santos recently spoke with Morning Kombat and revealed that he’s in great shape partly due to the fact that he’s not being harassed by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).

“I’m putting in great work, and right now, we’re not going through USADA,” Junior dos Santos commented. “It’s been great because I can take my pre-workouts, I can take my fat burning, I can take all the supplements that I couldn’t before. It’s been great. I’m feeling great, I’m eating good, and I’ve always taken care of my health.”

Even during the show, the hosts pointed out how Junior Dos Santos has been drinking from the fountain of youth, and the fighter discussed how he was now free to use the supplements that get him the best results.

“I feel great, and I am putting in great work at ATT (mixed martial arts group American Top Team),” said Dos Santos. “I feel great about the fight, as well. It’s the fight that makes the most sense for me to be having right now. And the date is a great date.”

He also said that his relationship with Jorge Masvidal goes back several years, and now he is fighting for the retired UFC star’s Gamebreed Promotions. Dos Santos said it’s a great fit for him.

“When I first moved (to America), I was training there one of the days with Jorge, and he said to me, ‘One day, you’re gonna fight for me on my promotion!‘ And I said, ‘Man, that’s going to be a pleasure… I hope it happens’.”

The bout will take place on Friday night in Jacksonville, as Dos Santos will look to rebound after losing his last several fights. He was released by the Ultimate Fighting Championship in 2021.
