The animosity between Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Kyle Busch is now spilling over to a famous NASCAR owner.
Richard Childress, a former NASCAR driver in his own right and current owner of Richard Childress Racing (RCR) says he wishes he got involved in the pit row fight between the two drivers.
You may recall that Stenhouse and Busch were involved in an altercation after the NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway.
Here’s a quick recap: Stenhouse didn’t appreciate getting wrecked early on in that race. He said he’d meet Busch afterward. Busch met him instead. The two argued. Stenhouse threw punches. Stenhouse’s father got involved. Chaos ensued. Bodies were strewn about. Lives were ruined.
Okay, maybe I’m being a bit dramatic. But still, it was crazy.

Richard Childress Offers His Thoughts On Stenhouse/Busch Rivalry
Childress was asked his thoughts about the Stenhouse-Busch fight as he was preparing to attend the Helping A Hero Patriot Award Dinner.
We’ll get to why his concerns were important in a minute. His response was interesting, to say the least. Not only would he have jumped in the original fight, but he had a warning for Stenhouse who, at the end of the brawl said, “I’ll wreck you at Charlotte.”
The long and short of the message – Go ahead and try it.
“Ricky Stenhouse said that he was going to wreck the (No.) 8 car at Charlotte,” he said. “Well when I see him, I’m gonna tell him if he does, I’m older, but I’ll just change my style of fighting.”
“He’ll carry a rough a– beatin’.”

Childress Once Got Into A Fight With … Kyle Busch
So why was Richard Childress being asked his thoughts on the Stenhouse-Busch rivalry? Simple. Busch drives the No. 8 car for RCR. They entered into an agreement to do business together in 2022.
Which is interesting because Childress in 2011 was fined $150,000 after politely taking off his wristwatch and then punching Busch in the face several times.
Now it looks like they want to throw rounds together against a common opponent. The WWE couldn’t come up with a better male soap opera if they tried.
Childress at the time of the Busch fight was a 65-year-old grandpa. He’s 78 years old now, and still ready to rumble.
For his part, Stenhouse walked back his claim that he would wreck Kyle at Charlotte.
He may have had some help with his change of heart. Stenhouse was fined $75,000 for his role in the latest fight.
Busch received no punishment.
The Coca-Cola 600, scheduled this Sunday at Charlotte Motor Speedway, is the longest Cup Series race on the schedule.
