Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing or RFK Racing announced The LeBron James Family Foundation (LJFF) will be showcased on Chris Buescher’s No. 17 NASCAR Cup car when the series arrives at Michigan International Speedway for the FireKeepers Casino 400 on August 7th.

LeBron James is a minority owner in Fenway Sports Group (FSG), the parent company of RFK Racing; which is co-owned by Fenway, Jack Roush, and Brad Keselowski.

The official Twitter account of RFK Racing unveiled the partnership and the paint scheme for Buescher’s car writing on Twitter, “Creating generational change for kids and families.”

“We’re proud to highlight The LeBron James Family Foundation on the No. 17 of Chris Buescher in Michigan,” they added.

On their website RFK Racing detailed, “The scheme will spotlight LJFF and its I PROMISE Program, which serves more than 1,600 students and their families with the fundamental resources, wraparound supports and family programming needed for success in academics and beyond.”

The press release also noted “this activation will engage I PROMISE students in the sport of racing while elevating the Foundation’s innovative work in providing a new approach to transforming communities through education.”

The official Twitter account of the No. 17 RFK Racing mustang also shared the paint scheme writing, “See y’all in Michigan.”

Fenway Sports Group Chairman Tom Werner stated, “For the students of LeBron James Family Foundation to be represented on the NASCAR track is an important symbolic first step in connecting them with the sport.”

“We hope this special relationship with RFK Racing will provide these talented students with an understanding of all the opportunities available to them as they contemplate their bright future,” he added.

Buescher shared another look at the paint scheme writing on his Twitter, “Pretty cool to have The Lebron James Family Foundation on my ride for Michigan. The car looks fantastic!”

Director of the LeBron James Family Foundation Michele Campbell commented on the partnership saying, “To see our Foundation represented alongside one of the most iconic racing teams in NASCAR shows our kids from Akron that anything is possible and nothing is out of reach for them.”

She added, “It’s incredible that our partners at RFK Racing have created this opportunity for them to connect with racing in a meaningful way that opens up a whole new world of possibilities for our kids and families.”

The official LeBron James Family Foundation echoed Campbell’s comments writing on Twitter, “Akron, we’re heading to Michigan International Speedway with RFK Racing! To see our Foundation represented alongside one of the most iconic racing teams in NASCAR shows our kids from Akron that anything is possible and nothing is out of reach for them.”

James shared his thoughts writing on Twitter, “So AMAZING!!! Wow wow wow. For the love of my kids and families at The Lebron James Family Foundation and I PROMISE School.”
