Sports analyst Jason Whitlock eviscerated LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers organization for allegedly turning his son Bronny into a “Make-a-Wish Kid.”

Whitlock’s criticism comes after the team drafted Bronny despite having an incredibly weak college basketball resume, then signing him to a multi-year, multi-million dollar deal.

“LeBron James has turned his son into the Make-A-Wish kid,” Whitlock said on his ‘Fearless’ podcast.

He also ripped the media for uncritically following along with the charade.

“And everyone in the media is going to play along. Everybody is going to play along,” he said. “You’ve turned your son into the Make-A-Wish kid.”

Whitlock On Bronny James: Looks Like His Dad Got Him The Job

The Los Angeles Lakers last week announced that they had signed second-round draft pick Bronny James to a multi-million dollar contract.

James, who averaged just 4.8 points per game with USC this past season, and wasn’t on anybody’s mock draft last month, grabbed himself a 4-year, $7.9 million contract.

Making it even more absurd is that the 55th overall selection got a guaranteed deal before having to prove himself in the NBA Summer League.

Whitlock continued to hammer LeBron for being the key player in getting his son into the NBA through obvious nepotism.

“LeBron James is trying to pretend like Bronny overcame these incredible odds to make it to the NBA Summer League and the Lakers roster. He hasn’t,” he insisted.

“The dude was born on third base but his dad keeps making the argument that ‘Oh my god, he’s just earned everything! What incredible odds Bronny has overcome!'”

Had It All Just Handed To Him

Keep in mind, Bronny James got all of this handed to him after complaining that “it’s tough” being the son of one of the greatest basketball players of all time.

Whitlock also suggested the way Bronny looked during the draft compared to Lakers first-round pick Dalton Knecht showed the contrast between a player who earned their reward and one who got it from daddy.

“Dalton Knecht’s got a nice pair of slacks on, a button-up shirt. LeBron’s kid’s got on jeans, a hoodie, tennis shoes,” he said.

“One guy showed up like he had earned the job and another guy showed up like his dad got him the job. You can just see it in the way that they presented themselves.”

Whitlock even predicted that if Bronny James were to play the one kid of LaVar Ball to never make it in the NBA – LiAngelo – he’d lose handily.

In his first Summer League game, Bronny scored four points in 21 minutes. In his second, he posted three points in 29 minutes.

The Lakers insist they aren’t appeasing LeBron, who made it publicly known he wanted to play with Bronny. Oh, and also happened to opt out of his contract and was looking to re-sign.

New Lakers coach JJ Redick said, “Rob and I did not give Bronny anything. Bronny has earned this.”

By wishing really, really hard, apparently.
