After having cardiac arrest during a workout with his Southern Cal teammates, Lebron James says his son could be back by the end of this month

In July, promising prospect and second-generation star Bronny James suffered a cardiac incident while going through some routine drills with USC. Now the son of Lebron James appears close to rejoining the no. 16 Trojans, at least according to his famous father.

On July 25, news surfaced that Bronny James was in stable condition after suffering cardiac arrest and collapsing during a basketball workout the day before. His condition was diagnosed as a treatable, congenital heart defect. Hopes were high that he would be able to make a full recovery and possibly even play again.

James was released from the hospital after only three days, and he’s been working ever since to get healthier and stronger.

Now, according to Lebron James, Bronny is getting healthier and could be back on the court with his teammates by the end of this month. The younger James was on the sidelines to watch his USC squad during their season opener against Kansas State.

“Things are going in the right direction with Bronny’s progress,” LeBron James said Monday night after the Lakers played the Heat.

“He’s done with rehab. Every week, he gets to do more and more and more. We have a big – a big – moment at the end of the month to see how we can continue to go forward.”

‘If he’s cleared, we’ll be not too long away from him being back on the floor and back with his teammates and practicing with the notion of being back on the floor and playing in game situations. Everything’s on the up and up.'”
