Los Angeles Lakers guard Bronny James was featured on the cover of Men’s Health magazine Tuesday. And why not? He is, after all, the most famous second-round flop player in NBA history.

Granted, this particular magazine covers the general topic of health, and James did have a significant and newsworthy health scare last summer.

And that’s what he’s discussing in Men’s Health.

The 18-year-old son of NBA icon Lebron James had to be rushed from a USC basketball workout in July of 2023 when he suffered a cardiac arrest. Yeah – the kid’s heart stopped.

Now, he’s opening up about the frightening incident.

“My days aren’t normal anymore,” the younger James said. “I still feel like I’m getting back, I’m getting back to where I was.”

Bronny James also addressed the elephant in the room – playing on the Lakers with his father, one of the best NBA players of all time.

“Wow! It’s crazy that it’s gonna happen,” he said.

James remains confident in his ability, even as critics or people with working eyes know he is lacking. Severely. But he’s ignoring those critics.

“Everything I’ve been through over the years has prepared me for this,” he told the outlet. “I really think it just ties back to me experiencing so much negativity and pushing through all of that.”

He pushed through it so hard that he averaged a staggering 4.8 points per game in college. Perseverance on parade, I say!

“I feel like it built me to where any situation that is trying to hold me back or I’m not fighting through at the time, I can sustain my comfortability and belief in myself to keep going,” he added.

“I mean, there might be a couple times that I look at something and it makes me mad, and I go out and play better, but most of the time, it’s in through one, out the other.”

James Flopped During The Pre-Season

Any guess as to what isn’t going ‘through one and out the other?’ The basketball. Through the hoop.

Bronny James scored his big magazine cover on the same day his Laker team faced the Golden State Warriors for their final pre-season game.

James scored 2 points in 9 minutes of play. That output doubles his entire pre-season total over four games.

Over 44 minutes of game time, Bronny put up 4 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist. And, as has been the theme, James can’t shoot the rock.

He’s 2 for 16 (12.50%) from the field and 0 for 7 (0.00%) from downtown.

That is, in a word, atrocious. Second-round pick. 4-year, $7.9 million guaranteed contract. Can’t do the one thing he needs to do – play basketball.
