Antonio Brown reportedly lost a lot of money on Sunday, as the hits just keep on coming for the former NFL wide receiver. Mired in controversy stemming from legal problems and his ownership of an arena league football team, you would think he wouldn’t keep playing out his recent string of bad luck. Instead, he chose to double down on one particular contest and ended up getting busted flat.
Brown, who hasn’t played in the NFL since 2021, reportedly placed a large bet on the Minnesota Vikings to defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And by large? For the former seven-time Pro Bowler, that means in the six figures.
“Antonio Brown lost $120,000 betting the Vikings to beat the Bucs,” JC Cornell tweeted following this weekend’s action, which saw the Bucs pull off a surprise win over the Vikings, 20-17. 2017 Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield may have finally found a home as he threw for two touchdowns in his first game as the replacement for retired legend Tom Brady.
But AB wasn’t betting on Baker or the Bucs on Sunday, and it cost him big time. Perhaps he should have stayed loyal to Tampa Bay, where he helped Brady lead the team to victory over Kansas City in Super Bowl LV.

Antonio Brown’s life appears to be spinning out of control since he departed the NFL.
The 35-year-old has literally been a smorgasbord of controversy since stepping away from the game, with each story seemingly more and more unbelievable. At one point, Antonio Brwon was literally held up in his house so the police couldn’t arrest him. More recently, Brown took off his pants and threw them at someone with a camera, only to realize afterward that his phone was still in his pocket.
That doesn’t include his saga of owning the arena league team, The Albany Empire, which saw coaches fired, players not getting paid, and the franchise eventually thrown out of its league. Add in that he has been issued warrants in multiple occasions for failure to pay child support, and you have to wonder: How many more ‘bad beats’ does Brown have left?
