An easy rule to live by: When the GOAT speaks, you listen.
Tom Brady, the man who knows more than anyone else alive about winning Super Bowls, thinks the Kansas City Chiefs can win a third Super Bowl in a row in the upcoming 2024 season.

Brady: Chiefs Can 3-Peat Super Bowl
The Chiefs are currently the two-time defending World Champs. The question on everyone’s mind this offseason is, can anyone beat them?
For the man who won seven Super Bowls, the answer is tricky.
Talking to Colin Cowherd, Brady explained the incredible pressure of winning back-to-back Super Bowls.
“To put three of those together, in back-to-back-to-back seasons, with drafting last, a very hard schedule, all of the turnover in free agency and guys continuing to be motivated, it’s a big challenge … “There’s not a 50% chance of that happening. They’re way less than that. Those players are going to show up every day, they’re going to have to put in the work like they have.”
To this author, that motivation question is probably the biggest one. When you’ve just achieved the absolute pinnacle of your profession, how do you stay motivated to stay on top?
And the Chiefs don’t just have the pressure of winning the last Super Bowl – they’ve won the last two.
But there’s a reason they’ve won the last two, and three altogether in the last five years.
“That’s not to say the Chiefs couldn’t accomplish that. Believe me, everybody would probably put them as one of the odds-on favorites to do it …”
“They have a tremendous coach in Andy Reid, who doesn’t ever look backward,” Brady said. “He’s not going to say, ‘Hey, because we were great last year, we’re going to be great again this year.’ He’s a veteran, experienced, championship-level coach who holds those guys accountable. They’ve got a great quarterback in Patrick [Mahomes], who, as we know, when he’s on the field, he’s as great a football player as there is in the NFL. Travis Kelce, what he can do at the tight end position is really a great safety blanket. Rashee Rice came on as a rookie. [They’ve got] Chris Jones [back]. They’ve got [Steve] Spagnuolo back there as a defensive coordinator.”

No One Has Ever 3-Peated the Super Bowl
So how hard is it to 3-peat? So far, no one has ever done it. Not even Tom Brady.
Some teams have played in three Super Bowls in a row – including Tom Brady. The Buffalo Bills famously flopped in four Super Bowls in a row.
But several teams have won back-to-back. Let’s take a look at how they performed after.
Nine teams have won back-to-back Super Bowls.
- Kansas City Chiefs, 2023-2024
- New England Patriots, 2003-2004
- Denver Broncos, 1997-1998
- Dallas Cowboys, 1992-1993
- San Francisco 49ers, 1988-1989
- Pittsburgh Steelers, 1978-1979
- Pittsburgh Steelers, 1974-1975
- Green Bay Packers, 1966-1967
In some of these instances, the winners were back to their winning ways shortly after their repeat seasons. The Patriots had a 10-year drought, but won three more Super Bowls before 2020.
The Cowboys would go on to win the Super Bowl in 1995. The 49ers would go on to win the Super Bowl in 1994.
In most cases, it took the winners a bit to get back to the big game. The Steelers wouldn’t win another Super Bowl until 2005. The Packers, of course, would wait nearly three decades before winning Super Bowl XXXI.
