Cleveland Browns rookie Michael Hall was a second-round pick of the team out of Ohio State this past spring. The hope for Cleveland was that the defensive tackle would be able to make a major impact on the field as a rookie.

Unfortunately, it’s now about an off-field incident that could threaten both Hall’s short-term and long-term future in the NFL.

Reports came trickling in earlier on Tuesday that Hall was involved in a domestic dispute with his fiancée in the Cleveland suburb of Avon late Monday night.

The Browns themselves addressed the situation in a statement after these reports became public record.

“We are aware of the incident involving Mike Hall Jr. last night,” Cleveland Browns statement on Michael Hall situation. “Mike and his representatives have been in touch with the appropriate authorities. We are in the process of gathering more information and will have no further comment at the time.”

Per Zac Jackson and Jason Lloyd of the Athletic, Hall was arrested by authorities later on Tuesday. The arrest comes under the umbrella of domestic violence. Hall’s bond was set at $10,000.

As these reports surfaced, more information came out.

According to ESPN’s Daniel Oyefusi, Hall allegedly threatened the unnamed woman with a gun by holding it to her head. The report goes on to note that Hall allegedly told the woman to leave before grabbing her by the feet and dragging her on her back down the driveway.

The dispute reportedly stemmed from an argument the two were having over finances. They apparently share an 11-month-old child with one another.

As Hall allegedly pulled the gun on the unnamed woman, reports indicate that he said ““I will f—ing end it all. I don’t care.”

Obviously, these are some damning allegations against the rookie. The first court date is set for September 10, two days after Cleveland’s regular-season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.

Hall played three seasons for the Buckeyes, recording six sacks in the process. He was a four-star recruit out of Streetsboro High School in Ohio in the Class of 2021.

Right now, Hall is in some major hot water with authorities. That doesn’t even take into account potential discipline from the NFL or the Browns potentially deciding to move on from him altogether.
