The NFL has announced that multi-time Grammy winner Usher will be the entertainer at this year’s Super Bowl during the Apple Music Halftime Show in Las Vegas, on February 11, 2024.

Usher is no stranger to the Super Bowl – it will be the singer’s second time performing at the Big Game. He was a featured performer at  Super Bowl XLV alongside The Blackeyed Peas, but this time he will have the stage to himself.

The eight-time Grammy Award-winning artist has also captured 34 ASCAP Awards, nine Soul Train Music Awards, and eight American Music Awards in a recording career that began when he was just a teenager. Now 44, Usher has sold an estimated 30 million albums in the United States – and over 80 million records worldwide.

The League and the entertainer made the announcement with the assistance of a very famous friend, Kim Kardashian, via Twitter.

Usher said about the announcement, “I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before. Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.”

The Halftime Show has become almost as big as the game itself, with a history of featuring some of the greatest stars of all time taking part. So, the singing sensation should fill the bill perfectly for the Super Bowl in Sin City. Especially since he already has a residency not too far away in Las Vegas, at the Dolby Live indoor amphitheater at the Park MGM Hotel and Casino.

The NFL’s announcement comes on the heels of earlier reports that fellow megastar Taylor Swift had previously turned down the event.

Swift, who has made NFL news for her apparent romance with the Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end Travis Kelce, reportedly turned down the offer in order to continue her mega-hit Eras tour.
