Tina Knowles defended her daughter Beyoncé’s Christmas Day NFL halftime performance on Netflix, which was the recipient of both praise but also heavy criticism from some spectators.

‘Queen Bey’s’ performance took place during the Texans-Ravens NFL game in Houston on Christmas Day. She was given some extra time to perform, much like a Super Bowl halftime show.

Beyoncé showcased songs from her latest album, “Cowboy Carter,” an album which she produced to get back at the CMAs because she didn’t “feel welcomed” there.

Mama Bey chimed in to address the haters of her daughter’s show.

“It is mind-boggling to me that you would take your precious Christmas day and watch a performance of someone you hate and you don’t think has talent so that you can go talk ish about it later,” she fumed on social media.

Beyoncé’s Mom Going After The Haters

There were bound to be some critics of the halftime performance by Beyoncé. Especially when the halftime shows are catered to non-football fans. Especially since the NFL has force-fed another pop star named Taylor Swift down fans’ throats.

And it doesn’t help that the “Cowboy Carter” songs are a sad attempt at country. Buying your little cowboy hat on Amazon and bedazzling it does not make you a country singer. But I digress. It sold well, after all.

Tina Knowles says y’all secretly love watching her daughter.

“Obviously you are so obsessed with them, addicted to them, and secretly admire them, wish you could be them, that you cannot help but to watch and critique and comment and say dumb ridiculous stuff that makes you look like a joke!!”” she spouted off.

Mama Knowles suggested that critics tune into something more their speed, like “goofy cartoons or Bozo the Clown” if they didn’t enjoy Beyoncé’s performance. Undoubtedly, some viewers already thought they were.

She also praised her daughter’s resilience, quoting, “No weapon formed against me shall prosper,” in response to the online negativity.

Dave Portnoy Ripped The Performance

Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, publicly criticized Beyoncé’s halftime performance during the Christmas Day NFL game between the Ravens and Texans.

Portnoy was one of the more vocal critics.

He expressed his disapproval by stating on social media that Beyoncé has been “LOST” since her days with Destiny’s Child. Portnoy also encouraged his followers to call into his show, “The Shred Line,” to roast her performance further.

Portnoy previously took a shot at Beyoncé while watching Rihanna’s performance during last year’s Super Bowl.

“Rihanna > Beyoncé,” he wrote at the time. “Not particularly close.”

Beyoncé was reportedly paid $20 million for her 13-minute performance.
