Dak Prescott’s name must have escaped the minds of his own teammates, Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs, as they discussed the best quarterbacks in the NFL.

Cause they didn’t mention him. They mentioned eight other quarterbacks without uttering the word ‘Dak.’

Parsons, the three-time Pro Bowl linebacker, and Diggs, a two-time Pro Bowler who tied the record for most consecutive games to start an NFL season with an interception in 2021, discussed top quarterbacks on Parsons’ “The Edge” podcast.

Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, Jared Goff, and Matthew Stafford were all mentioned. They even squeezed in mention of Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold and Commanders rookie Jayden Daniels.

But no Dak. Ouch.

Dak Not Among The Best Quarterbacks In The NFL?

Listen, I don’t expect Parsons and Diggs to name him as the best quarterback in the NFL. But you can’t even show support and confidence by putting him on the list?

That’s a big oof. That’s cold. Ice cold.

The Cowboys this season under Dak have been nothing short of miserable. Their passing game is ranked third in the league, but that’s because they are consistently behind in games, and their running game is abysmal.

They are dead last in rushing in the league, averaging a paltry 74.1 yards per contest. Their longest run of the year was 13 yards. 13. Yards.

Dak Not Living Up To His Contract

So, it isn’t all Dak Prescott’s fault that the team has struggled to a 3-4 record. That said, he hasn’t exactly made things better with his own play.

His passer rating has dropped from 105.9 in 2023 to 84.5 this season. Prescott currently has 8 interceptions in less than half a season, tied for 72nd in the league. He had 9 the entire season before.

Unfortunately for him, as quarterback, he is the focus of any woes for an underperforming team. And his massive new contract doesn’t help either.

Prescott signed a contract extension before the start of the NFL season. It was a four-year contract worth $240 million, making him the highest-paid player in NFL history by average annual value at $60 million per year.

With that kind of money, fans expect results. Apparently, teammates do, too. Maybe then Dak will make some lists of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
