Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce had their homes burglarized within hours of each other last month, according to TMZ Sports.

It seems highly unlikely that these were random incidents. Has anybody checked in on Xaviar Babudar, otherwise known as “ChiefsAholic”?

The incidents occurred around the time of a Monday Night Football game, with Mahomes’ Belton, Missouri mansion being hit first, followed by Kelce’s Leawood, Kansas home where $20,000 in cash was stolen.

Those two cities are roughly twenty minutes apart in the Kansas City Metro area.

The FBI has now joined the investigation, suggesting that these might not be isolated incidents but potentially part of a larger, possibly organized crime operation crossing state lines. Local law enforcement agencies are assisting.

Chiefs Stars Have Homes Burglarized

These burglaries are almost on par with criminals who scan obituaries to see when a family might not be home so they can rob their homes.

Apparently, whoever broke into the residences waited until they knew the players would be prepping for the Chiefs’ Monday Night game against the New Orleans Saints on October 7th.

In fact, one of them, Kelce’s mansion, was broken into shortly after kickoff.

Pop star and girlfriend of Kelce’s, Taylor Swift, was in the stands at the game while the Chiefs tight end had his home burglarized.

The Daily Mail reports that Kelce purchased his new home “for more privacy after he was harassed at his old property in KC’s Briarcliff West area by crazed fans amid his relationship with Swift.”

That doesn’t appear to have worked out well.

Not A Bright Idea

If you’re going to rob a wealthy person, as an organized crime boss – allegedly – you might want to target some obscure hedge fund manager. Or a biotech firm executive. Somebody less in the public eye.

Probably best not to draw attention to your crimes by targeting the star quarterback of a Super Bowl-winning team. Or his tabloid sensation tight end who happens to be dating the biggest entertainer on the planet.

On the other hand, one would think they must be professionals. It’s very likely both Kelce and Mahomes have decent security setups at their mansions. And yet, these guys somehow got through.

Reports suggest other homes in nearby neighborhoods were also broken into, pointing further to the potential the burglarized homes of the Chiefs players are part of a bigger crime spree.

We’ll keep you posted as to any new developments as they come in.
