Many of our readers are well aware of the terrible injury suffered by Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson. Watson suffered the injury while attempting a quarterback draw in the second quarter of a game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Reports confirmed that Watson suffered a ruptured Achilles, ending his season and quite possibly his entire tenure with the team. (Then again, it’s the Browns so they may be preparing another mega-contract for him?)
A problem arose from Browns fans who cheered when Watson went down. Several of his teammates responded after the game defending their QB 1 and even making claiming that he’s a decent guy who doesn’t deserve such treatment.
Now, NBA great LeBron James, who brought the city of Cleveland a championship trophy in 2016, is laying into fans of the city for their behavior.
And they really weren’t having it, coming from LeBron.

LeBron James Hammers Fans Who Cheered Deshaun Watson Injury
Four-time NBA champion LeBron James took to social media to directly address the Cleveland fans who were cheering Deshaun Watson’s injury.
“Cleveland Fans! Y’all know how much we’ve been thru throughout the years both good, bad, and indifferent,” he wrote on X.
“With that being said booing anyone that’s down with an injury let alone your own player is LAME AF!!” he added. “To the ones who didn’t (salute emoji).”
James didn’t exactly get the response he was looking for. Most of the criticism revolved around Watson’s character. He had two dozen lawsuits filed against him by women who accused him of sexual assault or other related misconduct.
He was suspended in 2022 for 11 games by the NFL.

This Is Where The Line Was Crossed?
Reaction to Lebron’s defense of Deshaun Watson was swift. It was brutal.
“I think it’s okay to boo a serial sexual predator,” one fan responded.
“The man is a sexual predator who quit on his team but booing him was where the line was crossed,” NFL draft analyst Marcus Whitman fired back.
In one particularly stinging response, a fan quipped, “Yeah honestly so disrespectful of Browns fans to cheer the injury of someone who has more settled sexual assault lawsuits than passing touchdowns since the trade.”
Ouch. Fans in Cleveland really aren’t putting up with the nonsense. They’ve had enough of this guy and his defenders.
Backup QB Jameis Winston, who has his own history of misconduct which includes grabbing things – his Uber driver and crab legs (look it up) – complained that fans would dare rip into a guy who’s had the “world against him.”
Browns defensive end Myles Garrett strongly responded to fans, claiming Deshaun Watson has done “pretty much everything right” and “been a model citizen.”
