Penn State police are investigating the incident between Jason Kelce and a heckler in which the latter had his phone smashed after dropping an ill-advised comment about the former Philadelphia Eagles center’s brother.
As many of our readers already know, Kelce was harassed and heckled by an obnoxious Penn State fan who hurled homophobic slurs and taunts in his direction.
A separate video showed the fan actually knocking Kelce to the ground.
“Kelce, how does it feel that your brother is a […] for dating Taylor Swift?” the heckler said.
Kelce didn’t hold back at that point. He lobbed the insults right back at the heckler and then spiked the kid’s cell phone for good measure.
“Who’s the […] now?” Kelce can be heard shouting in return.
And now, a new report indicates an investigation is underway.
Jason Kelce Incident Under Investigation
Penn State’s Police and Public Safety agencies are engaged in an “ongoing” investigation into the matter. A police log indicates an “officer observed a visitor damaging personal property.”
That seems to indicate that Kelce is the one being looked at and the student probably filed the complaint.
The report also cites possible charges being looked into – including criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
PSU public information officer Jacqueline Sheader has told the Associated Press that the process is still ongoing as they gather information.
The kid in this incident should not escape scrutiny. He needs to be suspended and his scholarships revoked for instigating the fight, if not for assault for knocking Jason Kelce down.
But also, maybe a football scholarship for being able to knock down an All-Pro NFL center? OK, maybe not.
Jason Kelce is the fucking man!

Offered An Apology
Kelce, a Monday Night Countdown analyst for ESPN, tried to tamp down the situation by offering an apology during the broadcast this week.
“I think everybody’s seen on social media everything that took place this week,” he said as the pre-game show for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicked off.
“Listen, I’m not happy with anything that took place. I’m not proud of it,” he added. “In a heated moment, I chose to greet hate with hate, and I just don’t think that’s a productive thing. I really don’t.”
And that’s probably the biggest fault on Kelce’s part. The fan hit him with a homophobic slur and the Super Bowl champ gave it back … three times.
Jason Kelce’s apology might help save himself from suspension at ESPN. But it isn’t going to affect a police investigation. Did he cross the line into the criminal?
