The “Trump dance” is sweeping the globe it seems, with football players – both American and ya, know, the footy kind – showing off their moves left and right.
One of the first players to break out the move in-game was San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa. He was fined thousands by the NFL for crashing a post-game interview while wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.
Bosa responded by doing a sack celebration in the very next game after Trump had gone from former President to President-elect.
Now, the craze is so prevalent that it’s even crossed the pond. Players from the English soccer club Barnsley recently celebrated a goal with the Trump dance.

Call It The Trump Dance Trend
The Trump dance craze actually began with the President-elect’s campaign back in 2020. He began closing out rallies by busting a move to the Village People’s hit song, “YMCA.”
The New York Times at the time had questioned whether or not Trump had the stamina to hold campaign rallies post-COVID. So he responded by dancing. For four straight years.
Now, he’s converted athletes who were once overtaken by the “kneeling in disgust toward America” trend. Especially in the NFL, where the Trump dance showed up several times this past Sunday.
Za'Darius Smith, Brock Bowers and Calvin Ridley all perform the Trump YMCA dance on NFL Sunday.

Amazing how supporters of the Republican often hid from the media up until November 5th, but are suddenly dancing for the world to see since.
The joy seems to be back in America.

It’s Everywhere
It isn’t just football and soccer either. Trust me, no matter what your personal feelings might be towards the next President of the United States, the Trump dance trend is everywhere.
UFC fighter Jon Jones celebrated with his own rendition after his victory at UFC 309.
Known as one of the greatest UFC fighters, Jones defeated Stipe Miocic and then celebrated by performing the Donald’s signature dance moves. Trump happened to be in attendance at the event at Madison Square Garden.

Right now the Trump dance is a social media phenomenon. It’s wild to think of where Trump was in the public’s view four years ago compared to where he stands today!
