Looks like you can count Patrick Mahomes in as a ‘Swiftie.’ The Kansas City quarterback appeared on CBS Mornings to discuss pop star Taylor Swift, girlfriend of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and how she’s been embraced by the team.
Mahomes said that while things were a bit awkward at first, the Chiefs players have adjusted to Kelce’s romance with Taylor Swift.
“At first I feel like everybody stayed away and just let [Kelce] do what he was doing, but then he started bringing Taylor around and you realized how cool a person she was,” Mahomes explained.
“For us, there were a couple of jokes in the beginning, but now it’s just – she’s part of Chiefs Kingdom now, she’s part of the team.”

Patrick Mahomes Says Taylor Swift Is Cool With His Wife Brittany
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback also praised Taylor Swift for taking on his wife Brittany Mahomes as a friend, with the two having spent much of the season competing as most annoying significant others overexposed by NFL cameras attending games together.
“It’s cool that she’s embraced Brittany and they’ve built a friendship as well,” he told CBS.
Mahomes used the word “cool” to describe Taylor Swift, give or take, 47 times.
Mahomes also noted that Swift and his teammate Travis Kelce match well together, and he’s glad that she’s the person she is.
He even hinted that he might take a trip to Europe to see her “Eras Tour” when the NFL offseason rolls around next year.

CBS Gushes Over The ‘Authentic’ Couple
Following the interview with Patrick Mahomes, the hosts at CBS Mornings couldn’t stop gushing about how Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are just a normal couple and so authentic.
Nevermind the manufactured storylines and selectively leaked photos of them being in the same vicinity of each other for weeks on end before they announced they were together.
WWE would think the buildup was a bit dramatic.
Some – I won’t name names (me, it’s me) – have suggested Swift is being used by the NFL to help boost ratings through chatter on entertainment and gossip websites.
The billionaire pop star is ‘spotted’ at NFL games every week and her reactions to Kelce and the Chiefs play are analyzed ad nauseam. As Bounding Into Sports reported, it got so ridiculous last week that Fox News hired a forensic lip reader to study whether or not she dropped an f-bomb during the game.
The NFL has been all too willing to capitalize on the hype, featuring Swift prominently in their broadcasts and even changing their Instagram bio at one point to “Chiefs are 2-0 as Swifties.”
