Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was on the receiving end of a troll job by the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders earlier this week.

During training camp practice in Southen California, Raiders players passed around a Mahomes “Kermit” doll. It was a way to make fun of the way the three-time Super Bowl champion talks.

It was funny. Absolutely hilarious. But it was also dangerous. Do the bottom-feeding Raiders really want to give Mahomes bulletin board material?

We’re talking about a dude who has posted a 10-2 record against the Raiders. He’s led Kansas City to back-to-back Super Bowl titles. He’s the best football player on the planet. It’s not close.

So, waking a sleeping giant probably might not be the best way to go. A certain meme comes to mind. “It’s a bold strategy cotton, lets see if it pays off.”

Patrick Mahomes Has Short But Great Response To Raiders Troll Job

Speaking to media on Friday, Mahomes was asked about the Raiders poking fun at him. His response was short. But it seemed to put Vegas on notice.

“Yeah, I mean it’s still early in the year,” Mahomes told reporters. “Stuff like that happens. It’ll get handled when it gets handled.”

Uh oh, Raiders Nation. He’s awake!

As for the clip, Mahomes does sound a lot like Kermit.

It’s also not like Mahomes is ignorant of this fact.

Reporter: “What is your best Kermit the Frog impression?”

Patrick Mahomes: “I am talking. That’s it.”

Hilarious stuff.

As for the Raiders and that troll job, head coach Antonio Pierce was not having any of it.

“We nipped it in the bud,” Pierce said on Friday. “It’s over with.”

Smart man.
