There’s always one reporter on media row during Super Bowl week who just has to ask the dumbest question he or she can think of. They never fail to disappoint.
This year is no different and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy was, um … in the crosshairs.
A reporter asked Purdy about internet rumblings suggesting he looks just like Lee Harvey Oswald, the man who assassinated President John F. Kennedy.
Brock Purdy Looks Like Lee Harvey Oswald?
The comparison began with Chiefs fan Josh Chavis who posted side-by-side images of Purdy and Oswald. And sure, if you squint hard enough and are inebriated to the point where you can barely stand, then yes, they look alike.
Anyway, the post went viral having been viewed over 13 million times. And a reporter decided to ask Purdy if he had heard the rumors.
“I haven’t,” Purdy replied. “That’s my first time hearing it.”
Pressed on whether he agrees with the assessment that he looks like Lee Harvey Oswald, Purdy replied “Uhhhh … Uh, yeah, I don’t know.”

Aside from being absurdly unimportant, one has to wonder how the reporter expected Brock Purdy to answer the question about Lee Harvey Oswald.
‘Y’all know you look like Oswald, right?’
‘Yea, but only in the shotgun formation.’
