Golf influencer Paige Spiranac is looking to branch out it seems. She offered to take part in the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest to be held on the 4th of July.
She even offered up video evidence that she could house some hot dogs. And for that, we thank her. Very, very much.
Spiranac was responding to the controversy over Joey Chestnut being banned from the hot dog eating competition on Coney Island.
Chestnut, a 16-time winner of the event, was rejected by the event after partnering with a rival brand by the name of Impossible Foods. That’s right, he was representing a vegan hot dog company.
Spiranac said she would come off the bench and down some meat hot dogs.
“I’m available to fill in,” she wrote on X, claiming to have eaten 6.5 hot dogs in 10 minutes.

Paige Spiranac At A Hot Dog Eating Contest? Yes Please
It didn’t take long for Paige to find video evidence of her hot dog eating prowess. Granted, she slightly over-inflated her numbers.
“I have found the video proof. And I lied it was only 6 hotdogs and not 6.5. I might have to try again this July 4th,” she told followers on X. “Thoughts?”
Yes. We all have many thoughts.
That video has over a million views so far and honestly, we’re not sure how it could possibly be that low. Get it, girl!
For comparison, Miki Sudo holds the women’s world record of 48.5 Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs in 10 minutes. So Paige Sprianac is a mere 42 behind that pace.

What Is Going On With The Competitive Hot Dog Eaters?
After you’re done watching that video … in slow-motion … and rewind, it’s time to address something quite serious. Like, what in the world is going on with the legends of hot dog eating?
This is a purely all-American sport. It showcases our nation’s drive for excess and fame. It’s held on Independence Day for crying out loud.
And we have the biggest legend in the sport’s history switching to vegan hot dogs?! Bro, check yourself.
On top of that, you have the “Godfather of Competitive Eating”, Takeru Kobayashi, announcing his retirement recently because he’s not hungry anymore.
What is happening to this once proud nation?
The good news is, both Chestnut and Kobayashi seem to be ashamed of themselves and are looking to get back in our good graces – by taking part in an epic head-to-head competition on Netflix.
The event for the no-longer-hungry eating machine and the newly vegan hot dog housing machine is set to take place live on September 2.
It’s not the 4th of July, but to see these two giants stuff 60 dogs in their gullets, September will do!
