Seven men have been arrested and charged with breaking into the homes of the Kansas City Chiefs stars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes. The seven Chilean nationals allegedly broke into the residences of other professional athletes as well during their spree.
Seven Chilean Nationals Arrested
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Middle District Florida issued a statement on Tuesday identifying the seven arrested men. Their names are: Sergio Ortega Cabello, 38, Bastian Jimenez Freraut, 27, Pablo Zuniga Cartes, 24, Alexander Huiaguil Chavez, 24, Bastian Orellano Morales, 23, Jordan Quiroga Sanchez, 22, and Ignacio Zuniga Cartes, 20,
The complaint alleges that each of these men were part of a group that “targeted high-profile athletes” in both the NFL and NBA. The group would regularly burglarize the homes of athletes when they “were away or playing in professional games” after finding their schedules online.
FBI investigators found that the criminals in this theft group would “divide out responsibilities” among its members for the crimes. This would include renting vehicles, finding lodging, getting fake IDs, and finding fences for the stolen loot.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the seven arrested men stole items that are valued at over $2 million in total. Indeed, they have all been charged with conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property.
Mahomes, Kelce, And More Athletes Robbed
The homes of Mahomes, 29, and Kelce, 35, were burglarized within 48 hours of each other back in October. Mahomes’ mansion in Belton, Missouri was hit first at around midnight on Saturday, Oct. 5. Kelce’s home in Leawood, Kansas was then targeted at 7:33 p.m. on October 7. At the time, the Chiefs were taking on the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead Stadium.
Officials said that in these two robberies, the burglars got away with “jewelry, watches, cash and other luxury merchandise.” They additionally posed for photos with the stolen items.
A Tampa Bay Buccaneers player was targeted by these thieves in October as well. In that case, they stole “jewelry, designer watches, a luxury suitcase and a firearm.”
One month later, the criminals broke into the home of a Milwaukee Bucks player. In that robbery, they made off with “several watches, chains, personal items, jewelry and cash” along with designer bags, with the total of everything stolen being $1.84 million.

Joe Burrow Targeted
On December 9, this gang allegedly broke into the home of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. At the time, his team was in Texas for a game against the Dallas Cowboys. They got away with around $300,000 worth of Burrow’s luxury possessions. The valuables that they stole included the football player’s personalized diamond-encrusted chains.
Finally, the complaint states that in the “late afternoon on December 19, 2024, and the early morning of December 20, 2024, the Tennessee home of a Memphis Grizzlies player was burglarized while the team played in Memphis, Tennessee.” In that robbery, the criminals stole “jewelry, watches, and luxury bags valued at about $1 million.”
