Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has become the first rookie since Candace Parker in 2008 to be named to the All-WNBA first team.
Clark received 52 out of a possible 67 first-team votes. As the New York Post points out, she was selected for the second team by 14 other voters, meaning one lone voter did not see her fit to make the All-WNBA squad at all.
This seems to be a trend. One lone reporter voted for Angel Reese in the WNBA Rookie of the Year voting, preventing Caitlin Clark from becoming the unanimous selection she obviously deserved to be.
At this point, the reporter in question must either be Sheryl Swoopes or a member of Reese’s family. Because no sane basketball mind can make these decisions.
Clark, through it all, joins unanimous selections Napheesa Collier and league MVP A’ja Wilson on the first-team All-WNBA group, along with Breanna Stewart and Alyssa Thomas.
Caitlin Clark Gets A Bonus For All-WNBA Selection
Aside from the honor of being selected for first-team All-WNBA, Caitlin Clark can celebrate with a money bonus for attaining the honor as well.
She will be given a $10,300 bonus check, according to the US Sun. The outlet also notes that Clark snagged a nice $5,150 bonus for winning Rookie of the Year.
I mean, that’s just about $16,000. Or, if I’m doing my math correctly, enough to help Reese cover her rent for two months.
The Chicago Sky star recently tore into the WNBA for not paying players enough and said the league salary wasn’t enough to cover her rent. Which she also admitted is an exorbitant $8,000 per month.
“Yo, I’m living beyond my means!” Reese laughed. Ya think?

What A Season She Had
Aside from Caitlin Clark and Parker, Sue Bird, Tamika Catchings, and Diana Taurasi all were named to the All-WNBA team during their rookie seasons.
That’s fantastic company to be a part of. Historic even. And why not, Clark just had a historic season.
She set numerous records, including becoming the first rookie to record a triple-double. She also broke the rookie scoring record with 769 points.
Clark just completed the most impressive rookie season of any WNBA player in the history of the league, averaging 19.2 points, 8.4 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game, and leading the league in assists and three-pointers made.
Caitlin was all tears of joy after winning Rookie of the Year, even more so when her teammates posted a public video thanking and congratulating her.

Reese took to social media and seemingly dismissed the honors being showered upon her rival, suggesting they are of little importance to her.
She reportedly reposted an X message reading, “Wanting validation from ppl who aren’t even valid is insane.”
It’s definitely bothering her.
