Yesterday was Caitlin Clark’s birthday – her 23rd in fact. As such, she was doing everything you’d expect – even sharing a little birthday cake with her Indiana Fever teammates.
Clark celebrated her special day thanks in part to a surprise from her Fever teammates, who showed up even in the offseason. The squad presented her with a cake, some balloons, and some singing.
She walked into the exercise room to see her coaches and other Indiana staff with a little defacto party, complete with a big ol’ “23” balloon. Her age, not to be confused with her jersey number of 22.
Her WNBA peers even sang her “Happy Birthday!”
“Thank you!” a pleasantly surprised Clark reacted. “You didn’t have to do that. Were you guys waiting for me!?”
But that wasn’t the best gift she received.
Caitlin Clark’s Birthday Workout
Sure, the video of her teammates celebrating Caitlin Clark’s birthday was nice. Heart-warming even. A little love and appreciation for the TIME Athlete of the Year.
But it wasn’t the best video to come out of Indiana yesterday. No, that distinction belongs to this three-minute clip of Clark working on her outside shooting. As if she needs any more work on it. Watch this, frankly, unbelievable session.
Clark hits 50 out of 54 shots from downtown. For those mathematically challenged, that’s just shy of 93% from three-point land.
50 for 54 from 22 on her 23rd. Just an absolute beast from long range.

Dedicated, Workaholic
If you think about it, Angel Reese couldn’t hit 93% on dunks if she was given a small step stool to stand on. In fact, she might wind up with about 50 rebounds on 54 attempts and then be celebrated for her awesome stats on the boards.
Just sayin’.
The video of Caitlin Clark dropping tre’s on her birthday isn’t surprising. We know she’s deadly from three-point range. And we know she’s dedicated.
This past June, Clark was spotted working on her game in a near-empty gym, after her Fever had won.

Clark clearly has that ol’ Mamba mentality. But I’m not sure Kobe ever went 50 for 54, even in practice.
