Prior to Cailin Clark joining the WNBA, how much do you think a ticket for a game between the Indiana Fever and the Brazilian national team would have set you back?

$5 tops? You probably would have been able to trade for one with a paper clip and a piece of lint from your jeans pocket, if we’re being perfectly honest.

Enter Clark, the most important face in basketball – men’s or women’s – today. Venture on over to TickPick and you will see that the cheapest ticket price for the Indiana-Brazil exhibition game is currently $674.

No, I didn’t miss a decimal place. Just look at this insanity:

Caitlin Clark Effect On Ticket Prices

Good Lord, I wouldn’t pay $674 for a ticket to see any NBA game right now. And Caitlin Clark’s Fever team is playing Brazil – Bra … Zil – who didn’t even qualify for the Olympics in 2020 or 2024.

Imagine the cost if Indiana were playing a game against silver medalist France or bronze winner Australia.

For comparison, a quick search of tickets for the defending NBA champion Boston Celtics shows the lowest price for a game against the Portland Trailblazers is $69, and the Philadelphia 76ers is $80.

Even a game amongst storied rivals, the Celtics and the Lakers, has a low of $480.

Caitlin Clark is by far the biggest draw in professional basketball today. That includes Steph Curry, Nikola Jokic, and, yes, even LeBron James.

Taking On Brazil

The ticket prices are being inflated a bit because this marks a homecoming of sorts for Caitlin Clark. The Indiana Fever is scheduled to play the exhibition game against the Brazilian National Team on May 4th at the University of Iowa’s Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

It marks a return to the venue where Clark became the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer.

Tickets for the game sold out in just 42 minutes, sending secondary market prices as high as $3,960.

The event underscores Clark’s transformative impact on women’s basketball, drawing massive fan interest following her Rookie of the Year season with the Fever in 2024.

Who will win? Will Brazil lift and enhance itself to match Indiana’s level, or will the Fever wax the ladies from South America?

Who knows. But if you want to see it in person, be prepared to hand over a pretty penny.
